“What a feast for the ears you gave us last night at the Scottish Rite. Thank you.”

J. Q.

“Dear Friends, Thank you so very much for the beautiful concert last night. It was ‘heavenly’ and I shall remember it always. The program notes had a clarity and enthusiasm I find lacking in so many Santa Fe concerts.”

B. A.

"Canticum Novum is a brilliant idea, commendably executed to date.  The group serves several splendid purposes.  First, it fills a formerly vacant niche in Santa Fe's musical scene, the combination of select choral voices with a limited chamber orchestra.  Secondly, they make a specialty--not a fetish, but a high priority--of performing rare works of Renaissance and Baroque composers, offering enhanced appreciation of that great age.  Third, Canticum Novum is local from top to bottom: directors, instrumentalists, soloists, and sponsors are all Santa Fe residents.  If you are lucky, some of them are your neighbors.  Finally, the group offers transcendent performances in a fitting, sacred context--the Santuario de Guadalupe, on the avenue of its name."

"The first two concerts by Canticum Novum have been tremendously splendid:  well-balanced, wonderfully paced, articulately sounded, and superb musicianship--both by the choristers and instrumentalists.

"This is a local choir that makes one proud of what can be excellently produced without dragging in ringers from all over the country.  And I deeply appreciate the depth of the sacred music by baroque and classical composers--Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart.  Not only do John Onstad and Ken Knight produce a rich, aesthetic sound, but a religious one as well.

"Thank you!"

"I have had the great pleasure of hearing several of the Canticum Novum performances. As a past Board Member of the San Francisco Chamber Symphony, I have been exposed to some of the best music all over the country. We are indeed fortunate to have, right here in Santa Fe, an organization that presents first quality music. Their repertoire and sound are superb. Hats off to the organizers and performers. We are grateful for their dedication to excellence."

"I've wanted to move to Santa Fe for a long time.  After hearing your concert, I now know why."        A.P.

"Hearing the music of Canticum Novum was a life-changing experience."
