KENNETH H. KNIGHT

Conductor


Conductor Kenneth Knight , a native of Texas , received his B.A. degree in music theory from Yale University , where he was a vocal soloist with the Yale Glee Club and the Whiffenpoofs. After graduate study in musicology and conducting at the Manhattan School of Music in New York , he toured for several seasons with the Norman Luboff Choir. He has also sung with the Roger Wagner Chorale, the Gregg Smith Singers, the Don Ellis Band, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, American Bach Soloists, and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra Chorus. In 1987 he was chosen to be the cantor for the papal masses at the Los Angeles Coliseum and Dodger Stadium during the visit of Pope John Paul II. He was Director of Music for eight years at St. Clare's Catholic Church in Santa Clarita , CA , and for five years at Petaluma [CA] United Methodist Church . He is also the founding director of the Sonoma County [CA] Men's Chorus. Now a Santa Fe resident, he is the conductor of the Santa Fe Men's Camerata, the Zia Singers, and the choir of the United Church of Santa Fe.

Seymor Barab's “Toy Shop,” an opera for children produced by Opera Unlimited; sang
principal role in two seasons touring New Mexico schools

Employment:   1980 to present, President and General Manager of Hubbell Electro-Mechanical,
                       Santa Fe , NM . Company performs all aspects of air conditioning, heating, plumbing
                       and electrical construction and service.

Associations:   Contractors 2000 , founding director; a national trade association dedicated to
                      development of business education for plumbing, heating and air conditioning                       contractors.
                       Educate New Mexico , founder and past president; a non-profit that raises money and
                       awards K-12 scholarships for low income children to attend private schools. In school
                       year 2003-4 over 400 scholarships were awarded with the average value of $1,350.
                       American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers ; member
                       since 1989.
                       Rotary Club of Santa Fe del Sur , past president and member since 1990.
